South West Business Expo featuring keynote speakers such as some bloke who won the apprentice and a panel of women CEOs, this is where I find myself on a foggy Thursday morning. Typically I detest these sorts of event and for all the same reasons I detested this one, but at least it was in…

Following on from a successful fireworks test on bonfire night, we decide to take the kids to a huge display at the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare. The info tells us the fireworks will happen between 19:30 and 20:00 so we arrive a 19:20 and take up our positions. Naturally the fireworks don’t start until 20:00…

It’s bonfire night and we aren’t sure how our kids will react to massive fireworks and bonfires so we go next door to join them for some garden based fun. Anyway the kids loved it and we had some pretty glorious eat and drink to make it work nicely for the adults too!

The villa we stayed in on the other hand, not so much. Well, unless exposed electrical wires, non functioning lights,…

We’ve got a bedtime routine which we tend to stick to fairly strictly – it gets them both off to sleep without any fuss which is frankly an essential survival tool for us given the repeated early starts they subject us to. Last night I’m playing out the usual exchanges with Bruce, and he throws…

A couple of difficult weeks at work are enough to make me appreciate that although my children do appear to be out to destroy me, they really are pretty great most of the time. Our operation to put an end to the 05:00 start time to the day is going well and we’re starting to…
